Sitting on her grandmother’s lap in Belgium nearly 30 years ago, Shirin Uma looked up and noticed several dainty necklaces, one of which had a simple eye of protection – a small blue glass bead surrounded in yellow gold. Ever since that day, there was a fascination with charm and as she grew up, it became a quest of hers to find the “perfect” eye, purchasing dozens in the process and eventually creating her own.
The 'evil eye' is a curse or legend believed to be cast by a malevolent glare, usually given to a person when they are unaware. Many cultures believe that receiving the evil eye will cause misfortune or injury. Talismans created to protect against the evil eye are also frequently called "evil eyes". Worn by both men and women, we have named them Eye of Protection to keep the focus on their purpose. Aside from protecting you and those you care for, we think they are the most attractive personal security measures you can find.
